No, Mews do not necessarily learn the same subjects as us. Of course not. For example, why would they learn art? For what reason? This does make a couple kids with good talent somewhat mad, but Mew Academy doesn't have many teachers. All the teachers available are teaching subjects the Mews DO need to know.
Mew Academy started many years ago. Hotaru founded it, and all the current teachers are either friends of his that are Mews, or graduates from the school. All students graduate from school at 18, and that's when they can decide to go out in the real world, risk the danger of being attacked, and hold the secret that they were a Mew within. Or, they could chose to teach the young Mews that come in.
There are around 175-200 teachers, Hotaru being one of them. There are around 2,000 students. All grades, from grade to high school are here. Ages range from 9 to 18, and teachers are older.
Classes start out with homeroom, mostly to ensure that no Mew has escaped from the school walls and started to spill the secret of the Mews. Everyone has their own schedule, regardless of their age or grade. Other subjects are PE, History of Mews, research, weaponry, element control, math, Language Arts, science/chemistry, foreign language, English/Japanese, and home ec. Extracurricular activities, for clubs and sports, are required for Mews to teach themselves. For a team, or something, they require the team captain to coach others.
Teams ARE allowed to go to different private schools and compete; they do that often with the permission of Hotaru and the adult supervision of an adult Mew. However, most teams at Mew Academy are broken up into groups, and groups take pleasure of competing against different groups.
Any questions can be replied to this thread! We'll try our best to answer them. (And I'm guessing these don't have to be four lines, since they're just questions.)
